The restoration of this c.1728 historic home encompassed a full-scale renovation and raising the house to meet base flood elevation requirements and establishing a new foundation. Our structural engineering scope required on-site visits to assess existing framing, ongoing collaboration with the architect to address field complexities, and the development of innovative solutions. The challenges included the design of a crawl space foundation supported by an array of helical piers, a recommendation stemming from third-party geotechnical engineers in response to soil conditions.
